[Sponsored Review] ChooMee Sip’n – Review + Giveaway

ChooMe Sip’n is a pouch top with a cover attached to be used with food pouches. It is made of chewy and soft silicone with a valve for flow control. They fit most pouches and are washable and reusable. For this review, I tried them on Bellamy’s food pouch. The Sip’ns come in 2-pack sets. Red/Purple and Orange/Green.

The Sip’n promotes 3 features. Sip it, Cap it and Strap it. It basically allows babies to eat comfortably and efficiently from the food pouch and without mess, allows you to cap it back if any is left unfinished, and also allows you to strap the Sip’n to the pouch before you use them.

The Sip’ns are soft with a slit at the top as the valve. This helps to stop the food from leaking out. Food only comes out if the baby chews and sucks on the the pouch, or when mummy squeezes the pouch. I like how soft it is such that it is actually similar to a bottle teat. The material is also very suitable for my 7 month old to chew on.

Before use, this is how you can hang it onto the pouch. It is really convenient especially if you are out. Ready to be used anytime! It is really easy to attach to the food pouch too. There is no screwing needed. You just pop it on and its tight!

My 7-month old took to it immediately. This was the first time she was introduced to food pouches and the soft top, instead of the usual hard top allowed her to hold on to the pouch and experiment with it. She immediately started chewing at the Sip’n. I just left her handling it by herself. She chewed and gnawed at the Sip’n and her natural instinct was to suck as well. And how did I know she is really eating it was when her face changed cos this flavour was a bit sour for her. šŸ™‚ All this time I did not even have to squeeze the packet for her.

I tested the sucking mechanism myself after my baby was done with the food pouch. If you do not chew, you have to suck harder at it for the food to come out. The thing is babies and toddlers usually bite and suck at the same time so they do not have any problem with this. A good thing was also once you stop biting/sucking, the food immediately stops coming out which is why it helps reduce the mess.

One thing I was quite irritated with though was the cap that was attached to it. It kept “flinging” here and there and got into the way of baby. But I managed to solve the problem! Good thing that it came with a hook. So I simply looped the hook over the Sip’n and that came under control!

When baby is done, all you have to do is cap it with the attached capĀ until the baby wants to eat again. For me if I was out, I would use the Sip’n cap. If I were home, I would reuse the original cap and pop the food pouch back into the refrigerator while I wash the Sip’n for its next use.

It was really fun and easy to use the Sip’n and I was surprised at the ease of it. I used to squeeze food out from the food pouch onto a spoon but this is really so much easier, cleaner and more convenient!
